The ruler of High Hermitage is Ser Gerold Dayne, known as the Darkstar, a knight who fancies himself Ser Arthur Dayne's equal, but has not proven himself in battle so far. Though not a Valyrian steel sword, Dawn is their equal in sharpness. They own a sword called 'Dawn' which was forged from a meteorite that fall in the mountains near Starfall over two thousand years ago.
They are known for their extreme martial prowess and skill. The Daynes of Starfall are an ancient house with a lineage extending back at least two millennia.
